Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the seller operating the EarthMC map-download store processes personal data. The controller is Cascadia Interactive Inc., reachable at [email protected] and Vancouver, WA.

Data we process

• Account and identity data, such as email address, locale, verification status, login provider, and linked Google or Discord identifiers.
• Order and payment data, such as products, prices, currency, order status, Stripe references, refunds, and purchase history. EarthMC does not receive or store full payment-card numbers.
• Fulfillment and license data, including product entitlements, download attempts, generated download tokens, and customer-support records.
• Security and technical data, which may include login timestamps, IP addresses, user agents, error logs, and records used to protect accounts and investigate misuse.
• First-party attribution and analytics data, including a random browser identifier, landing page, referring domain, campaign parameters, recognized advertising click identifiers, and funnel events. This attribution record does not include your raw IP address.
• Marketing preferences and communications, including whether you subscribed or unsubscribed, campaign delivery history, and messages you send to us.

Why we use the data

We use necessary data to create and secure accounts, take payment, deliver purchased maps, enforce licenses, provide support, issue receipts, keep accounting records, prevent fraud, and resolve disputes. These uses are necessary to perform the sale contract, comply with law, or pursue legitimate business and security interests.

We also use proportionate sales and product analytics to understand where customers find EarthMC, improve checkout, measure product demand, and make more sales. First-party site analytics starts automatically on eligible page views and uses a signed cookie containing a random browser identifier.

Optional marketing email is separate from necessary service messages. We send marketing only under an applicable lawful basis and recorded preference. You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or by contacting us. Unsubscribing does not stop receipts, security notices, download notices, or other messages needed to provide your purchase.

Site analytics choice

You may use the unobtrusive Opt out of site analytics link in the site footer at any time. Opting out stores your preference, clears the attribution identifier from that browser, and stops future first-party attribution and funnel-event capture while the preference remains set. You can enable site analytics again from the same footer.

The preference applies to the browser in which you set it. It does not rewrite completed order attribution snapshots, Stripe-confirmed transaction records, security records, or analytics records already collected before the opt-out.

Service providers and disclosures

EarthMC does not sell personal data. We disclose only the data reasonably needed to service providers that help operate the store, including:

• Stripe and related payment providers for checkout, payment, fraud prevention, and refunds;
• Google and Discord when you choose their sign-in services;
• email and SMTP providers for account, receipt, support, and permitted marketing messages;
• website hosting, database, logging, and content-delivery providers;
• analytics or advertising measurement providers only when configured and permitted by the applicable site preference.

These providers process data under their own terms and, where appropriate, on EarthMC's instructions. We may also disclose information when legally required, to protect customers or the service, to investigate fraud or abuse, or as part of a business reorganization subject to appropriate safeguards.

International processing and security

Providers may process data in countries different from yours. Where required, the seller will rely on an approved transfer mechanism or another lawful basis. EarthMC uses access controls, signed links, limited metadata, and other reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Retention

We retain data for as long as reasonably needed to provide purchases and download rights, send messages you requested, secure the service, satisfy accounting or legal duties, and establish or defend claims. Different records may require different periods. Financial records may be preserved after an account is closed, with account details removed or anonymized where appropriate and legally permitted.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability; withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing; opt out of certain targeted advertising or marketing; and complain to a data-protection authority. These rights can be limited by fraud-prevention, accounting, legal-claim, and other mandatory obligations.

You can opt out of future first-party site analytics through the footer and unsubscribe from optional marketing at any time. To exercise another right, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify that the request concerns your account.

Children

The store is for people who are at least 13 years old. A customer who is old enough to use the store but has not reached the age at which they can authorize a digital-purchase contract must have authorization from a parent or legal guardian. EarthMC does not knowingly collect personal data through the store from anyone under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted data without appropriate authorization should contact us.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when products, providers, or law change. The version and effective date above identify the terms that apply. Material changes will be communicated when required.
